Check the camera and license first
DJI Osmo Pocket 1 and DJI Pocket 2. The detected camera model appears in the shared tab. Pocket 1 has fewer camera functions; only use those enabled for the detected model.
Live resolution — Raspberry
- Pi 4 + Pocket 1: H.264, up to real 1080p; 900p and lower outputs are available.
- Pi 4 + Pocket 2: H.264, up to native 720p.
- Pi 5 + Pocket 1: H.264 up to real 1080p / 30 fps.
- Pi 5 + Pocket 2: H.264 up to native 720p / 30 fps.
- Pi 5 + either Pocket: H.265 up to 540p / 24 fps; lower H.265 resolutions remain 24 fps.
Pi 4 uses the supported hardware H.264 pipeline. Pi 5 encoding is software; Pocket H.265 is not enabled on Pi 4.
Live resolution — Radxa
- Pocket 1: native 1080p source; H.264 or H.265 output up to 1080p.
- Pocket 2: native 720p source; H.264 or H.265 output up to 720p, without a 1080p upscale option.
- Both cameras/codecs include 630p and 540p choices, plus lower outputs. Rockchip hardware handles the supported decode/encode/scaling path.
Use the menu for the detected board/camera. Recording at 4K does not mean the live USB feed is 4K. This release has no automatic subject-tracking or adaptive-bitrate control.
Connect and watch
- Use a valid license for the connected Pocket model and the board’s configured Pocket USB port/cable arrangement.
- Power/connect the camera. Wait for phone mode and the correct camera name in the tab.
- Select an enabled Encoding button: H.264 or H.265.
- Set live Resolution and Video Bitrate, using SET for each. The menu includes 0.25 Mb/s for low-bandwidth use.
- For the built-in Pocket view, use the local endpoint printed in Stream Settings. Follow Reinitialize Pocket → Play when required.
- PLAY / STOP below the picture starts/stops the live stream.
Raspberry Pocket stream: model-specific controls
Wait for phone mode AND the detected camera name first. Then follow 1 → 2 → 3, use 4 when reinitialization is required, and 5 to start/stop the live picture. Raspberry Pocket receiver: 127.0.0.1:8021, separate from the general Cockpit receiver. Pi 4: H.264; Pocket 1 up to real 1080p (900p also available), Pocket 2 up to native 720p. Pi 5: H.264 up to 1080p/30 for Pocket 1 or 720p/30 for Pocket 2. H.265 for either camera is limited to 540p/24 and lower resolutions at 24 fps. The screenshot shows Pi 4, where H.265 is unavailable. Use the menu enabled for the detected board/camera. Live bitrate includes 0.25 Mb/s.
Radxa Pocket stream: codec, output and PLAY
ROCK 4D / ZERO 3W / ZERO 3E: the same control sequence applies, while USB connection handling is board-specific. Use the port/cable arrangement supplied for your board. 1 H.264/H.265 → 2 live resolution/bitrate + SET → 3 endpoint + SET → 4 reinitialize when required → 5 PLAY/STOP below the feed. Radxa Pocket receiver: 127.0.0.1:8023. Pocket 1 reaches native 1080p; Pocket 2 reaches native 720p. Both codecs/cameras offer 630p, 540p and lower outputs, with the supported hardware video path. A valid license for the connected Pocket model is still required. Phone mode alone is not proof of a valid camera license or working stream.
Destination controls
UDP IP EndPoint / UDP Port EndPoint + SET redirect Pocket video to a compatible receiver. The inspected Raspberry Pocket view uses 127.0.0.1:8021, separate from Cockpit’s general 8020 receiver. The inspected Radxa view uses 127.0.0.1:8023. Follow the local endpoint displayed by your image. Restoring that local endpoint restores the Pocket browser path.
Live view
Fullscreen expands the picture. PiP / Map controls its viewing layout where supported. Flight values over the picture come from the flight controller, not the Pocket camera.
Phone mode without a detected camera/feed is not proof of a valid camera license. After reconnection, wait for model detection before Play. Check camera status, license, endpoint and selected codec if the feed is missing.
Gimbal, recording and focus: controls 1–6
Both platforms; functions depend on Pocket 1 or Pocket 2.
1 Drag the joystick to move the gimbal; release to stop the movement command. The feed also has a gimbal control. 2 FOLLOW/TILT/FPV select gimbal behavior. RECENTRE returns forward; SELFIE uses the supported selfie orientation. 3 VIDEO/PHOTO and REC/recording STOP/SHOT control the camera’s recording or photo, not the live-stream PLAY/STOP below the feed. 4 EV and white balance affect camera exposure/color. 5 RECORD-RESOLUTION/FPS affects camera recording, not the outgoing stream. 6 AFC/AFS/FOCUS POINT are focusing functions where supported; there is no automatic subject tracking in this release. Read the camera display to confirm results. Pocket 1 has fewer functions; use only controls supported by the detected camera.
Gimbal and focus
- Drag the on-screen joystick or the video gimbal control to move the head; release it to stop the command.
- RECENTRE: return the gimbal forward. SELFIE: turn to the supported selfie orientation.
- FOLLOW / TILT / FPV: select the supported gimbal-follow behavior.
- AFC / AFS / FOCUS POINT: continuous, single or selected-point focusing where the detected camera supports it. These are not subject-tracking controls.
Camera controls
- VIDEO / PHOTO: select capture mode.
- REC / recording STOP: start/stop recording on the camera. SHOT: take a photo.
- EV: exposure compensation. WHITE BALANCE: choose the appropriate preset/custom mode supported by that camera.
- RECORD-RESOLUTION / FPS + SET: change camera recording mode, not the outgoing live-stream resolution.
- RESET CAMERA: resets camera-side settings; it is not the normal live-stream Stop command.
The camera display reports mode, battery, recording time, white balance and EV.
