- Hilink Modem (USB tethering modem):
— This type of modem is the most recommended and easiest to use, requiring no setup at all. You simply plug it into your board’s USB port and it will automatically provide internet to the board, behaving like a USB network adapter that supplies internet. This category includes various models, including Huawei E3372h modems (h = HiLink indicator).
- Stick Modem (Clasic Modem)
— This mode is the classic mode, specific to connections where the user must set the APN, username, password, dial number, etc. Almost all carriers do not require all of these—most require only the APN or nothing at all. In many cases you don’t need to set anything; just select Modem Stick and it will be configured automatically. If needed, enter the APN or whatever your carrier requires.
- IMPORTANT:
— Uas4g5gLte supports a wide range of modems; it’s up to you to test them and let me know if you have an unsupported model so I can add support for it. For more details about supported modems, read the Modem Chosen tab in the Get Started section.
— Brovi E3372 modem users on RADXA Zero 3W/3E should know that the modem must be plugged into the board at least 20 seconds after boot. This happens because this modem type does not reset correctly after a reboot on this board. So after any restart or fresh power-on, you must connect it only after at least 20 seconds.
— This procedure applies only to the Brovi modem + RADXA Zero 3W/3E combination. Other boards using this modem do not need this, and neither do other modem types.
